Bank Holiday Weekend

Garden is starting to look a lot better after the bouts of weeding.  Started to clear the bed in the front garden with a view to planting most of the bedding plants I've bought (petunia, begonia and geraniun), but encountered a beech tree and unidentifiable woody shrub that ended up having very deep and thick roots.  Managed to get them both out with Shane's help on the Monday but it took a lot of digging.

Planted the cheap (£1) garlic I bought from Wilko's in a poly tunnel - it's not the most sturdy of structures but hopefully will keep the birds off.  Need to tackle the other two beds soon in preparation for the courgettes and squash - they could do with going in soon.

Gooseberries are well on their way but once I've picked them I think they're going to need some pruning - they're starting to get in the way of the raised bed.

Earthed up the potatoes for what I think will be the last time.
